Others may provide full health insurance, vision, and dental coverage (although this may be rare). Some parents do not offer health insurance (but they may still provide paid sick days). It all depends on the job and the client.

Do I get a vacation?

The family will choose half of the days to coincide with their vacation and half of the days you choose to match your vacation dates. We request both parties provide a minimum of 30 days notice to each other.

Will you call my references?

No, however, we will email your references.

Is there a background check?

Yes, absolutely!

Is there drug testing?

It depends on our client’s preferences.

How many hours will I get to work?

This depends on the job you apply for. We will always communicate the number of hours expected. If you apply for a part time job, we only consider you for part time positions. If you apply for a full time job, we make sure the family’s needs match your availability. We work with families who appreciate regular schedules, so often you can predict your schedule week to week. We also ensure a guaranteed level of pay even if the family does not need you as much the following week, or might be going on an unexpected trip.

How long will the job last?

This all depends. Most of our jobs require a minimum one year contract. However, sometimes families only need help temporarily. If you are looking for a semi-permanent job, we can locate one for you. Our jobs are full-time 95% of the time.

How many kids will I be looking after?

We are very forward, open, and honest with you. We will always tell you about the family you are being considered for prior to meeting with them. Some families have one infant, while others have four (4) kids. We want to match you with a family who you will be happy to stay with.

What if I don’t get the job after the Parent Interview?

No worries! All your work applying was not in vain! Those who made it to the Parent Interview are the best of the best! If this family isn’t a great match, we may pair you with another family to interview with. This all depends on locations, availability, salary requirements, and assessed skills.

For the Parent Interview where do we meet?

We usually meet at an undisclosed location. We will request a copy of your license prior to the meeting to ensure proper safety measures for the family.
