We are searching for a highly intelligent, engaging summer nanny in the Edina, Minnesota area. As a professional childcare provider, you will be caring for a 20mo g. The ideal candidate will have an educational background in early childhood education at the university level. Nanny candidates may currently be working on their master’s degree but their personality outweighs their education level. We ask that you have the COVID vaccine, are current on your CPR and First Aid, and that you have a clean background check. A minimum of 4 years of professional childcare experience as a private nanny or in a daycare is required. This position is only for the summer.
The little one is very intelligent and benefits from continual engagement using puzzles, games, dress-up, crafts, and library outings. She loves to read and learn. We need a babysitter who has the conviction to keep up with her intelligence while being able to follow the parent’s wishes for their child.
The Minneapolis-based family needs childcare coverage for 4 hours a day, five (5) days a week from Monday through Friday. 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Pay: $22 - $27 an hour.
Highly Intelligent Professional Babysitter
The ideal personality will be energetic but calm. Please have an ability to make sound decisions, with the enthusiasm to take initiative without being told. Mom is bright and bubbly. Dad absolutely adores his family. He does not trust easily, but once he does - he will trust you completely. Dad works from home and mom is studying from home.
Summer Nanny Job
At least a high school degree, GED, or equivalent
Degree in early childhood education (K-12) from an accredited college or university (2 or 4 year) or technical/ community college.
Previous experience working in a daycare, preschool, or elementary school.
Sophisticated knowledge of age-appropriate developmental activities
Skilled knowledge of emergency response.
Former experience as a swimming lifeguard (not required)
CPR and First Aid for infants and children
A team player with fantastic communication skills.
At least 2 years of paid experience working with toddlers in a professional setting
Fantastic spelling, reading, and math skills.
A car and a great driving record

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of paid professional infant experience
Up to Date on CPR and First Aid Certifications
Some college education or graduate
Knowledge of age-appropriate development of a baby
Experience with tummy time, introducing soft foods, and sleep training
Some Early Childhood Education Coursework
Former daycare experience
